PIFA Foundation for the benefit of sport's was established in 2007 with the intention of helping the talented less priviledged to develop as football players and keep them off the streets. The foundation aims to collect fund to sponsor children and youngsters in order to :

  • Develop football players amongst underpriviledged children

  • Provide them appropriate gear (kit, shoes, shin pads)

  • Teach them a life skill (coaching administration, marketing) and make them independent

  • Guide & counsel them to stay off the streets

  • Travel & participate in tournaments in other cities

  • Empower them to stand up against abuse

  • An opportunity to be selected for the state and get meaningful employment

  • An opportunity to earn a good salary by being selected by an I league team

PIFA Skills Contest

Rs 500,000 each event

 

This annual event was launched in 2005, to spot talented under priviledged children. 

Over 350 children are tested at this one day event. The top ten scorers are absorbed free of cost into the academy and get free enrollment into the four day National camps with foreign coaches.

Children are also given a meal during this event.

This is a major football event in Mumbai's football calender.  

  • Sponsors will share the title PIFA - XXXX Skills contest
  • Sponsors will get visibilty at the event
  • Branding on T-shirts for the event

Sponsor ONE child

 

Rs 25,000 per year

 

The YOUNG STAR Program, The boys will be between 10-14 years of age and will be provided
  • Year long training at the academy
  • 2 kits with sponsor branded uniform
  • a pair of football shoes
  • travel allowance / food allowance on training days
The boys will play for the academy team in various tournaments in Mumbai & rest of India. They will be recommended for trials and selections for state level tournaments.

Sponsor a community team

Rs 500,000 per season  The team will consist of 24 boys between 16-21 years of age and will be provided
  • Year long training at the academy
  • Pay the players
  • 2 kits with sponsor branded uniform
  • a pair of football shoes
  • travel allowance / food allowance on training days
The boys will play  in various tournaments in Mumbai & rest of India, including the MDFA league. They will be recommended for trials and selections for state level tournaments.

The sponsor will get a branding opportunity on the team kit.


Develop Coaches Rs 150,000 per session Each session will entitle 12 coaches to be trained as per FA level 1 standard of coaching. A week long prorgam. The coaches will be provided
  • 1 kits with sponsor branded uniform
  • reading material with sponsors logo
  • lunch & snacks
The coaches will be able to  implement an effective training program for their teams.

The sponsor will get a branding opportunity on the coaches kit.

WORK DONE TO DEVELOP FOOTBALL IN INDIA

PIFA Colaba FC Team 

"ONE FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE"

The foundation's first project was to sponsor a Colaba community team - PIFA Colaba Youngstar FC. 

The team performed well in the MDFA league. It got promoted in the very first year of formation from  Senior to Super division 2006-2007 and again the following year form  MFL Super division in 2007-2008 to Elite Division.

In 2009, the following teams were sponsored  

  • PIFA Colaba U19  in the 1st division (finished 3rd in the promotion play off league)

  • PIFA Colaba U15 in the 4th Division MDFA team. (Promoted to 3rd - 2010)

The 4th division team has already got promoted to 3rd division for the next season 2010.

All the players are paid and even though this is not their main income it helps support their family.

Vedanta Resources

Sponsored 11 children

VEDANTA have sponsored 10 children for the year 2008-2009. The boys & girls are aged 10-12  years and will be coached by Father Lawrence twice a week at Our Lady of Nazerath Gymkhana in Bhayander.

VEDANTA has also contributed towards the maintenance of the ground.

Team Sponsor - 2007

 

PIFA Colaba Youngstar FC ( 2007-2008)

The team was a young side playing the Super Division in the Mumbai League. The team  made it to the Super and then Elite Division of MDFA.

Two boys from the team were selected play for India U-16 in AFC Championship. One boy was selected to play for Maharashtra U-19.

Tilaknagar Industries also sponsored the PIFA Bharat Team playing in the 4th Division of the MDFA league.
