PIFA - 5 a side Challenge 2006

On Dec 26, 2006 - PIFA held a tournament only for children.

Children were invited to form teams of 5-6 players and give their team a funky name.  270 children participated form 30 schools. There were 17 Juniors boys tem, 4 girls team & 24 under 16 boys team. Seven referees from MDFA officiated the games.

Results:

Champion United won the Juniors boys team by a solitary goal beating Barca Juniors in the final. The best player was Hushad Khan of Champion United.

 

Killers won the girls team by beating Amboli Eves 1-0. The best player was Juhi Shah from Killers

 

Bombay Blues won the Senior boys team 2-1 beating Shaolin Five. The best player was Dhruv Malhotra of  Bombay Blues.

 

The Golden Boot award was won by Siddharth Singh of Shaolin Five having scored 7 goals in the entire tournament.

 

The winners & runners up got a medal, and the winning team players got a Nike football each.

PIFA LEAGUE - 2004 -2005

On Dec 19, 2004 - IYSA & Infinite Sports Pvt. Ltd. kicked off  the first childrens soccer league in Mumbai. 200+ participants from 24 schools from all over Mumbai participated in this event.

The event was not only organized for the sole purpose of keeping the children in touch with their football, now that the football season in school has ended.  But to make them adapt their game with different players. We wanted them to THINK !

5 session were held over a period of 5 months was held at the picturesque Priyadarshani Park at Nepeansea Road, Mumbai.  There were 5 categories Jr Girls, U9, U11, U14, and 14+. Each category were assigned 2/3 coaches.

Each session started with a warm up game, followed by technical training for an hour with use of specialized equipment, thereafter teams were drawn up. Each category played a mini league, a minimum of 4 games.  At the end of the day the team participants earned points.

Lunch and water was provided to all participants.

At the last session a skills test was conducted for the children. These test enabled the children to identify their strengths and weaknesses.

An award ceremony was held on the last day. And the winners of the league with the maximum point were awarded certificates. The winners were also awarded certificates and invited to participate in the IYSA Skills Contest to be held on June 4, 2005 at Cooperage.

After the success of this program,  a similar program will be launched in November 2005.
