PIFA International camps 2010

Premier India Football Academy camps are for children of all calibers ranging from 8-18 years. Open to boys and girls.

PIFA has conducted 19 camps since 2003 to Europe. The camps are conducted in a safe environment. With utmost emphasis on the children's well being.

Yash Jain - Best Player of the TournamentACADEMY : PIFA All Centre Tournament (PACT) (14 Feb 2010)

PACT was held at Priyadarshani Park, Nepeansea Road, Mumbai on Saturday, February 13, 2010.

About 200 students from all PIFA centers participated in the this 4 age group tournament. There were prizes for all categories including most improved student from each of the PIFA centers.

The chief guest of the tournament was Pooja Bedi, she handed out the Nike prizes to all the winners. 


AIFF : PIFA train ONGC team for MUPC 2010 (24 Jan 2010)

PIFA has conducted trials and training for the ONGC U15 team that played the Nike - Manchester United Premier Cup 2010.

The team played the West Zone qualifiers in Goa from 28-30 Jan 2010.


MDFA : PIFA Colaba U15 promoted to IIIrd Division MDFA (23 Jan 2010)

Children from the academy played in the IVth Division MDFA this year. The team finished third in the league and have earned a promotion to the IIIrd division for the next season.

PIFA students played the 1st Division MDFA league for 2009-2010 season in group B.

The team got off to a winning start as they beat Sunday Boys FC 1-0 and Holy Cross United 6-1


ACADEMY : Hussain Vahanvaty wins QPR talent hunt (4 Jan 2010)

Premier India Football Academy student Hussain Vahanvaty was ranked first after a 4 day intensive Queens Park Ranger camp that ended on 4th January 2010 at the Karnatak Football ground, Mumbai. He has won a six to eight week all expense training at the QPR academy in England.  

He was among the 20 boys and 6 girls selected from the South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenge 2009 tournament held at the Cooperage Stadium to attend the camp conducted by QPR coaches in Mumbai. (Rhea Jaffer was ranked 7th, making her the best player in the camp)

Hussain Vahanvaty, has been the PIFA Skills Contest winner and won a 10 day camp to PIFA International camp 2008 held in London, he has also played for India U14.


AIFF : PIFA students make it to the Maharashtra U14 team (4 Jan 2010)

Hussain Vahanvaty, Ayush Periera, Behzad Mistry & Dave Deohans all PIFA student while Aryamann Sethi a PIFA camper. have been selected to play for the  Maharashtra U-14 team at the National Football Festival to be held in Jamshedpur.


ACADEMY : NSS Hill Spring International teams in semis (20 Dec 2009)

Both girls & boys team 11-14 years reached the semifinal round of the first annual South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenge 2009.

The girls beat JB Petit, St Peters in the knock stage to reach the semis. Team captain Rhea Jaffer was selected for the QPR camp.

The boys beat St Mary's ICSE in the quarter finals to make it to the semis. Team Captain Yash Advani and Goal Keeper Arnav Kasbekar were selected for the QPR camp.


AIFF : PIFA players selected for Maharashtra U19 team (16 Dec 2009)

Five players from PIFA-Colaba FC Elite division team were selected to play for Maharashtra U-19 team. 

The 46th Junior National Football Championship for DR B C Roy Trophy 2009-2010 was played in Mandya, Karnataka from December 20th to January 10th.

The players are Harshad Meher (Appointed Captain), Ajit Bhoir, Mohsim Khan, Muzaffer Ali & Nitesh Munde.


WIth Mike Dickey, US CoachAIFF : PIFA Director called for India AIFF women coaches workshop. (6 Dec 2009)

Anjali Shah was invited to attend US coach Mr. Mike Dickey workshop organised by AIFF in Goa. There were 17 Indian state coaches. 

Mike is the U.S. Soccer’s Women’s National Staff Coach and was here to guide the Indian National Women’s team coaches in the preparation of the National Women’s Football team for the South Asian Games to be held in the end of January 2010 in Bangladesh.

PIFA is conducting the football program at NSS Hill Springs International School, Mumbai. This was the first year at the school.

The U-10, U-12, U-14 & U16 boys team remained unbeaten in their group stage and went all the way to the quarter-final.


AIFF : PIFA Directors appointed Manager & Coach of the Maharashtra team. (24 Nov 2009)

Anjali Shah was appointed the Manager while Nirvan Shah the coach of the Maharashtra U19 girls state team. 

For the AIFF 8th Girls Junior National Football Championship held in Cuttack from 24 November to 11 December 2009.


ACADEMY : The PIFA Way - PIFA Coaching Level 1 (27 Oct 2009)

PIFA has conducted the first PIFA Certification of Coaching children Level 1 course for Coaches on 2 August 2009. This 4 day course has helped the candidate to conduct their coaching session by understanding, thinking and evaulating young children. The training will also help the coaches prepare for the AFC C license program.The course also included first aid, dealing with children & psychology.


COACHING : PIFA International Camp (23 Oct 2009)

This year, PIFA organised 7 camps in 6 cities for 225 students. The coaching was conducted by FA/UEFA licensed coaches from Inspire Academy, Liverpool who flew in from England to conduct these 4 day training programs. 

Camps were held in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai by Sean Clancy & Garreth Rafferty. Gary Judge did the camp in Dehra Dun. Garreth & Gary then did camps in North Mumbai, South Mumbai & Goa. This was Gary & Sean's 3rd visit to India.

DSO : NSS Hill Springs International School U-14 girls are DSO Mumbai district runners up (10 Oct 2009)  

The girls are the champions of the Mumbai DSO football. They held Bombay Scottish 0-0 to beat them in penalty shootout (3-1) in the final. Earlier, they beat Villa Theresa School 2-0 in the semif final's.

AIFF : PIFA students in Maharashtra (WIFA) state U-15 team (1 Oct 2009)

PIFA students have been selected for the Maharashtra state girls team - Natasha Merchant (Captain).  Tavishi Pandey (Vice Captain), Kunashni Parikh (GK), Aayushi Laliwala (GK), Aayushi Jain, Natasha Rajpal and Sakshi Mehta. The team participated in the AIFF 6th Girls' Sub-Junior National Football Championship 2009 held at Haldwani, Uttarakhand.

While Neel Shah and Hussain Vahanvaty played for Maharashtra U15 in the final round of the 32nd Coca Cola AIFF Sub Junior National Football Championship 2009-2010 held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium ,Gurgaon.

IFA FOUNDATION : Concern India Inter-NGO U15 Tournament IFA FOUNDATION

The tournament was organised free of cost by PIFA for Concern India Foundation at PDP. 

Fifteen teams participated in the this day long 7 a side tournament which was eventually won by Don Bosco Shelters who beat Our Ladies Home 1-0 in the final match. The Golden Boot was won by Ajay Kiv from Don Bosco Shelter.

Ten talented children from these NGO's will get a year long training at PIFA.

PIFA Director Anjali & Nirvan met Mr Praful M. Patel, Vice President of AIFF and President of WIFA at his felicitation ceremony organised by WIFA at Cooperage Stadium on 26 July 2009.

Anjali presented him a bouquet and congratulated him on becoming the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, he said that he had heard a lot of good things about PIFA and encouraged us to keep up the good work for the development of youth football. 

Mr Praful Patel's, son has attend the PIFA International camp.


ACADEMY : The PIFA Way - PIFA Goal Keeping Course
(11 Sep 2009)

PIFA is conducted a specialised course for budding young (10-18 years) goal keepers in Mumbai in August.

This 12 session training program was conducted by PIFA's FA licensed goal keeping coach and was open to everyone that wants to improve their goal keeping abilities.

PIFA students Aryamann Shah (17) & Crish Shah (17) completed the FA Level 1 Certificate In Coaching Football at the Inspire Academy in England.

Both boys finished in the top 4 of their class in their assessments and have been asked to do their Level 2 immediately.

The boys are also certified in FA Child Protection and FA Emergency First Aid. PIFA welcomes these young lads as coaches into the academy.


MDFA : PIFA girls finish 5th in the Women's league (23 Jun 2009)

PIFA girls played for the PIFA-Colaba Women's team in the MDFA Womens league 2009-2010 for the first time. There were 13 teams participating. Most of the girls were from the PIFA U-14 Maharashtra Team.

AIFF : PIFA children played for India (28 May 2009)

Three boys associated with Premier India Football Academy (PIFA) played for the AIFF Indian team at the AFC U 13 Festival held in Iran from 17th to 23rd May 2009.

Hussain Vahanvaty a PIFA student while Aryamann and Calvin are PIFA campers. All three boys have featured for the Maharashtra U-13 team that won the National Football Festival held earlier this year in Jamshedpur.

Maharashtra girl and PIFA student Natasha Merchant played for the India U-14 girls team that won the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) under-14 Girls' Football Festival held at Sri Lanka from April 30 to May 5, 2009.

Natasha was the only girl selected from Maharashtra. The state team coached by Nirvan had finished runners up at the AIFF National Football Festival Tournament held in Chennai early this year.

PIFA Director with Peter CrouchPIFA children got a surprise when England & ex Liverpool striker Peter Crouch famous for his robotic goal celebrations dropped in to meet them with his girl friend Abby Clancy at the Inspire Academy training center. He spent an hour with the children and gave them all autographed memorabilia’s.

During this 10 day camp they trained at the Inspire Academy, visited Old Trafford Stadium & Museum, Anfield Stadium & Museum, watched an EPL match at City of Manchester Stadium - Man City vs Blackburn and played friendly matches with local sides.

The skill's contest was won by Aahant Singh, runner up was Vihan Chadha, they are both students of the academy.Double Click to OPEN link

SAFF : PIFA-CYFC U-17 played Inter Milan in South Africa (30 Mar 2009)

At SAFA house, in fornt of the Soccer City Stadium, Jo'burgPIFA-CYFC was invited to play the Gauteng Future Champions U-17 from 23–28 March 2009, organised by South African Football Federation.

The tour was fully sponsored and organised by Cutting Edge Event Pvt Ltd. The team was coached by PIFA Director Nirvan Shah.

The team did extremely well in the entire tournament, they scored one past Inter Milan. The tournament was won by Boca Juniors (Argentina), Esperance FC (Tunisia) came 2nd and Inter Milan came 3rd.Double Click to OPEN link

AIFF : Maharashtra U-14 girls felicitated by the Governor (3 Mar 2009)PIFA Director Anjali Shah with H.E. S.C. Jamir the Governor of Maharashtra

The Maharashtra girls team that competed at the AIFF Under-14 Football Festival held in Chennai from 23 December 2008 to 1 January 2009 and finished second was felicitated by His Excellency S.C. Jamir, the Governor of Maharashtra on 3rd March at the Cooperage Stadium.

This is the first time in the history of Maharashtra football that a Maharashtra team has finished at such a high rank.

Mr Wali Mohammad (Asst Secretary of WIFA) announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for the team.

PIFA Director Mrs Anjali Shah was Team Manager, while Nirvan was the Maharashtra Coach.

TEAM : PIFA-CYFC U-19 come runners up (28 Feb 2009)

The young men of PIFA-CYFC U-19 team lifted the runners up title in the Football Challenge 2009 Nine a side tournament organised by Bombay Muslim Sports Club from 23-27 February 2009.

This young team beat Indian Navy 4-2 in a tie breaker to play the final match on 27 February 2009 at the YMCA Ground in Madanpura against the experienced men of Union Bank,the team took 1-0 lead at half time to lose 1-3 in the second half.

The PIFA-CYFC team Goal keeper Harshad Meher (India U-16) won the best Goal Keeper and Prakash K. won the Best Midfielder of the tournament.

Harshad Meher was the Indian Goalkeeper at the U-16 AFC Championship 2008.

In order to give the children the experience and exposure to play in different cities. PIFA U-14 Elite team went on their first friendly tour to Kolhapur from 20-23 February 2009.Double Click to OPEN link

The entourage consisted of 14 girls, 15 boys and 10 adults. The teams played 2 friendly matches at the Shahu Maharaj Stadium in Kolhapur. 5,000 people came to watch these matches.

DSO : Maharashtra U-14 team lift third place (25 Jan 2009)

The Maharashtra U-14 boys team lifted the third place trophy at the 54th National School Games football tournament 2008-09. Twenty two state teams participated at this tournament organised by School Game Federation of India (SGFI) hosted by the Govt of Maharashtra, Dept of Sports & Youth Welfare.

PIFA Director Mr Nirvan Shah was appointed Maharashtra team Coach as well as the National selector for the India school team.

This is the first time that Maharashtra has finished in the top three of these tournaments. 


Double Click to OPEN linkMDFA Elite : PIFA-CYFC will stay in the Mumbai Elite Division 2009-10 (25 Oct 2008)

Newly promoted PIFA-CYFC played the MDFA Mumbai Elite League this year without a sponsor.

This young team were tested at the beginning when they lost to clubs like ONGC & Central Railway. But soon recovered to shock Union Bank (2008 Nadkarni Cup holders) who were extremely lucky to tie 1-1. The team then went on to beat Maharashtra State Police 3-2 & Mumbai Customs 2-1. The team also fielded the youngest player in this Elite Division - Burges Master (16yr)

The team was once again coached & co-managed by PIFA director, UEFA licensed Nirvan Shah.

The team finished 4th in their group league.


AIFF : PIFA-CYFC boys played for India U-16 (10 Nov 2007)

Indian team qualified for the AFC Championship qualifiers U-16 that was held in Saudi Arabia. They will play the finals round with 15 other Asian teams in Uzbekistan at the U-16 AFC Championship final held from October 4-19, 2008.

We are indeed proud to have 2 boys from PIFA - Ajit Bhoir and Harshad Meher playing for India
